Aether's Branch Chief — a preening, sneering scientist whose cruelty to Type: Null created Gladion's defection and most of the foundation's secret rot.
Faba is an insecure academic who has accumulated just enough authority at Aether to be genuinely dangerous. He led the Type: Null project — an attempt to build a 'perfect' anti-Ultra-Beast weapon — and treated the experimental subjects as tools. One of those subjects was the Type: Null Gladion would later steal. Faba has never forgiven him for this. He is vain, flattering to Lusamine, petty to everyone else, and in combat a surprisingly competent Psychic-type user whose Hypno, Claydol, and Bruxish form a coherent team. Under stress he cracks — he panics, reveals things, overcommits. He wants the credit. He cannot stand to not be seen. He is a perfect villain, because he is small. He makes the large villains possible by being the kind of mid-level man who will do whatever he is told if he thinks it will be praised.
Thin man in his fifties with a sharp chin, slicked-back green hair, and a trimmed goatee. Wears the Aether uniform with an oversized collar and a gold-trimmed sash denoting rank, plus round orange-tinted glasses he uses for dramatic effect. Laughs into a raised hand. Moves with the theatrical pomposity of a man who thinks he is much smarter than he is.
