Her work at the Dimensional Research Lab is what first identified what Ultra Beasts actually are: creatures from alternate dimensions, not monsters to be exterminated. She is openly affectionate with Kukui in front of his students, to the students' flustered delight, and she takes Lillie in with the kind of practical warmth that doesn't need a speech. When Lillie breaks down about her mother, Burnet sits with her. When Lillie can't touch Snowy, Burnet doesn't push. She is the first adult in Lillie's life who has no agenda. She is also the world's foremost authority on Cosmog-class phenomena, which means when Nebby starts behaving strangely around the Altar of the Sunne, Burnet is the one who knows what's happening — and that it is about to happen whether anyone wants it to or not.
