A waterside city in northern Kanto — home to Misty's Water-type Gym, Bill's cottage, and the cave where the 'Monster of Cerulean City' (Mewtwo) terrorized the region.
Cerulean City is defined by water — and by what lurks in the cave above it. Misty runs the Water-type Gym here, and Bill's cottage sits on the coast nearby. But the city's darkest chapter was Mewtwo's rampage: after escaping Team Rocket's laboratory, the clone terrorized Cerulean City as the 'Monster of Cerulean City' before Red captured it with the Master Ball in Cerulean Cave.
A bright, clean city built around waterways and bridges. The Gym features a large pool arena. Cerulean Cave looms in the mountains to the northwest — dark, foreboding, and off-limits to most trainers.
