Mysterious evolution stones that trigger temporary Mega Evolution — several Pokédex holders' partners can Mega Evolve, including Saur, Blasty, Chic, and Rara.

Mega Stones are special evolution stones that, when paired with a trainer's Key Stone, trigger temporary Mega Evolution — a dramatic power boost that pushes a Pokémon beyond its normal final form. In Pokémon Adventures, several key Pokémon can Mega Evolve: Red's Saur (Mega Venusaur), Blue's Charizard (Mega Charizard Y), Green's Blasty (Mega Blastoise), Sapphire's Chic (Mega Blaziken), Ruby's Rara (Mega Gardevoir), and Blaine's Mewtwo (Mega Mewtwo X and Y). Steven Stone studied Mega Evolution extensively before his death.

Appearance

Small, radiant gemstones with a double-helix DNA pattern inside. Each is specific to a Pokémon species. They glow intensely during Mega Evolution, connecting to the trainer's Key Stone via a beam of light.
