Wattson is Mauville City's eccentric Gym Leader, an inventor and engineer who built New Mauville's underground power generator. His cheerful, grandfatherly demeanor hides a sharp strategic mind — his Electric-type Pokémon, particularly Manectric, hit hard and fast. He joined the Hoenn Gym Leader coalition during the RS arc's crisis and contributed his technical expertise to the effort.
