Ecruteak City's mystical Ghost-type Gym Leader — guardian of the Tin Tower who has dedicated his life to seeing Ho-Oh, believing he is destined to be its chosen trainer.
Morty is Ecruteak's spiritual guardian, a Ghost-type specialist whose deepest desire is to witness Ho-Oh — the legendary Pokémon that burned the Brass Tower centuries ago. His Ghost-type Pokémon (Gengar, Misdreavus, Gastly) allow him to perceive things others cannot, and he uses this second sight to guard the Tin Tower. During the GSC arc, he participated in the Gym Leader tournament and played a key role in the events surrounding Ho-Oh and the legendary beasts (Entei, Raikou, Suicune).
Blond hair with a headband, purple scarf, dark outfit. Mystical, contemplative expression. Often seen near the Tin Tower or the burned ruins. Has a distant, otherworldly quality.
