Team Magma's calculating leader — he seeks to expand the landmass using Groudon's primal power, believing continental expansion is humanity's destiny and the oceans are obstacles to progress.

Maxie is Archie's mirror opposite — where Archie acts on passion, Maxie operates on cold logic. He commands Team Magma with intellectual authority, seeking the Red Orb to control Groudon and expand Hoenn's landmass. His ideology frames land expansion as necessary for human civilization's growth, dismissing the ecological catastrophe it would cause. During the RS arc, he awakened Groudon, whose emergence triggered devastating droughts and seismic activity. The simultaneous awakening of both Groudon and Kyogre created the existential crisis that nearly destroyed Hoenn.

Appearance

Red hair, glasses, lean build. Wears Team Magma's red-and-black hooded outfit. Cold, analytical expression. More cerebral than physical — plans rather than fights directly.
