Gold

Character from Pokémon Adventures by Hidenori Kusaka & Satoshi Yamamoto

Johto's reckless, billiard-cue-wielding prodigy — a born gambler who hatches Pokémon eggs like no one else, and whose stubbornness and heart make him the key to stopping both the Masked Man and Arceus.

Gold is chaos incarnate with a heart of gold (no pun intended). Reckless, stubborn, and loud, he drives everyone around him crazy — but his instincts are razor-sharp and his compassion is genuine. Professor Oak initially refused him a Pokédex, forcing Gold to prove himself worthy through action rather than pedigree. His special skill is Pokémon breeding, earning him the title 'Hatcher.' He uses a billiard cue to shoot Poké Balls rather than throwing them, treating battles like trick-shot pool games. His Pokémon inherit his gambling personality — Togebo (Togekiss) literally has his luck-based temperament. Gold pursued Silver across Johto, crashed the Masked Man's scheme at the Ilex Forest shrine, and chased Pryce through time itself to rescue Celebi. In the HGSS arc, he calmed the rampaging Arceus through sheer trust in his hatched Pokémon.
