The time-traveling guardian of Ilex Forest — Pryce's obsession with capturing Celebi drove the entire GSC arc, and its compassion even extended to the man who hunted it.
Celebi is the temporal guardian of Ilex Forest, possessing the ability to travel through time via the shrine deep in the forest. The Masked Man (Pryce) spent decades hunting Celebi, kidnapping children and creating the GS Ball specifically to capture it — all to travel back in time and save his lost Lapras. Celebi's compassion is its defining trait: even after being captured by the man who terrorized a region to reach it, Celebi showed Pryce mercy, sending him comforting memories of his Lapras into the temporal void where he was trapped. Gold's Pibu destroyed the GS Ball that held Celebi captive. Celebi later used its time-travel powers to revive Norman after his death controlling Rayquaza.
