A city at the edge of Viridian Forest — Yellow's home, the origin of her psychic powers, and the starting point for the quest to find Red.

Viridian City is where the arc begins and where its deepest mythology lives. The Viridian Forest produces a special child once every few years — a human with psychic powers over Pokémon. Yellow is one of these children. Lance is another. The forest doesn't choose sides. The city is also Giovanni's former Gym territory. Blue Oak has taken over as Gym Leader, but Giovanni's shadow lingers. When Pika staggers out of the wilderness toward Professor Oak, it's the city's proximity to the forest — and to Yellow — that makes the rescue mission possible. Viridian City sits at the intersection of ordinary Kanto life and the supernatural powers that drive the entire arc.

Appearance

A mid-sized city nestled against the sprawling ancient forest that gives it its name. Professor Oak's lab is nearby in Pallet Town. The forest looms at the northern edge — dense, dark, and older than the city by millennia.
