A mountain between Pewter and Cerulean — where Red was ambushed by the Elite Four, frozen by Lorelei, and hidden until Giovanni found him.
Mt. Moon is where the Yellow arc's central mystery begins. Red traveled here after the first arc and was ambushed by the Elite Four. Bruno fought him under Agatha's mind control, Lorelei froze him in a block of ice, and his Pikachu barely escaped. The frozen champion remained hidden inside the mountain for the entire arc — an ice sculpture that nobody knew to look for because nobody saw what happened. Giovanni eventually locates Red here and frees him, sending the champion to Cerise Island for the final battle. Mt. Moon transforms from a tomb to a turning point.
A large mountain with cave networks running through it. Moonlight filters through cracks in the ceiling. Fossils and rare Pokémon hide in the depths. Somewhere inside, a block of ice holds the Pokémon Champion.
