Pika is the thread connecting Red's absence to Yellow's quest. Red's Pikachu escaped when the Elite Four attacked on Mt. Moon, sustained terrible injuries, and staggered to Professor Oak's laboratory. This is what triggers everything — Oak sees the wounds, recognizes Elite Four techniques, and sends Yellow to investigate. Pika bonds with Yellow because of her Viridian powers. She can feel what he feels, heal his wounds, and communicate with him on a level no other trainer can match. But Pika isn't her Pokémon — he's Red's, and he knows it. He fights for Yellow because she's the path back to Red. In the final battle, Pika executes Megavolt — an attack powered by the combined energy of Red's Venusaur, Blue's Charizard, and Green's Blastoise, channeled through Yellow's String Shot. It's ten times stronger than a normal Thunderbolt, enough to defeat Lance and free Lugia from the Badge Amplifier's control. After the arc concludes, Pika is returned to Red.
A Pikachu — yellow fur, red cheeks, lightning-bolt tail. But this one carries scars from Elite Four–level attacks and moves with the wariness of a Pokémon who has seen its trainer frozen. Stays close to Yellow, trusting her healing touch, but always watching for threats Red would have handled.
