Chuchu is Yellow's Pikachu — distinct from Red's Pika. Where Pika is a veteran of championship battles carrying the weight of his trainer's disappearance, Chuchu reflects Yellow's gentler nature. She bonds with Pika during the journey, and the two Pikachu develop a connection that mirrors Yellow's unspoken feelings for Red. Chuchu isn't as battle-hardened as Pika, but she's fiercely protective of Yellow. In later arcs, Chuchu and Pika produce an Egg together — a development that surprises exactly no one who watched them travel side by side through Kanto.
