A piece of the Grand Meteor — the weapon Ruby and Sapphire used to force the Red and Blue Orbs out of Archie and Maxie's possessed bodies.
The Grand Meteor Fragment is the key to resolving the Orb crisis. When the Red and Blue Orbs bonded to Archie and Maxie's bodies and became impossible to remove by normal means, Ruby and Sapphire combined the Grand Meteor Fragment with their Pokémon's attacks to forcibly extract both Orbs. The fragment's properties — likely tied to whatever cosmic force the super-ancient Pokémon originated from — make it uniquely capable of disrupting the Orb-wielder bond. Without it, there would have been no way to save Archie and Maxie from permanent possession.
A dark, dense fragment of meteorite — rough-textured, impossibly heavy for its size, and faintly warm. Not beautiful or dramatic in appearance. It looks like a rock. It is, in fact, the most important rock in Hoenn.
