Tate and Liza are the twin Gym Leaders of Mossdeep City, specializing in Psychic-type Pokémon. They fight exclusively as a pair, their psychic bond allowing them to coordinate attacks without speaking. This makes them uniquely dangerous in double battles — they think as one mind in two bodies. Sapphire earns the Mind Badge by defeating them. During the crisis, they join Juan on Mirage Island to help train Ruby and Sapphire for the final battle. Their signature Pokémon are Solrock (Tate) and Lunatone (Liza).

Appearance

Young twins — a boy (Tate) and a girl (Liza) — with matching dark hair and similar outfits. They finish each other's sentences and move in eerie synchronization. Their Solrock and Lunatone orbit them like moons.
