Rustboro Gym Leader — a studious young woman who fights with Rock-types and teaches at the Trainers' School, the first Gym Leader Sapphire defeats.
Roxanne is the Rustboro City Gym Leader, specializing in Rock-type Pokémon. She's also a teacher at the Pokémon Trainers' School, which gives her a pedagogical approach to battle — she analyzes, teaches, and learns even from her losses. Sapphire earns the Stone Badge by defeating Roxanne early in the 80-day challenge. During the Groudon/Kyogre crisis, Roxanne joins the Gym Leader coalition. She and Brawly are assigned to combat Groudon's drought-devastated zones, fighting to mitigate damage in the scorched areas. Her main Pokémon include Nosepass and Graveler.
