Maxie is the intellectual to Archie's brute. Where Archie operates on instinct and passion, Maxie plans. He believes expanding Hoenn's landmass will provide more space for human civilization — more room to build, grow, and thrive. His admins — Courtney, Tabitha, and Blaise — call themselves the 'Three Fires' and execute his schemes with zealous loyalty. Maxie's master plan involves obtaining both the Red and Blue Orbs from Mt. Pyre. He temporarily allies with Archie to achieve this, then immediately pivots to using the Red Orb to awaken Groudon while assigning Tabitha to control Kyogre with the Blue Orb. The plan fails because the Orbs aren't instruments — they're ancient parasites that bond to their wielders. The Red Orb consumes Maxie as thoroughly as the Blue Orb consumes Archie. He becomes Groudon's avatar, his intellect drowned under geological fury. His body breaks down under the strain. Ruby and Sapphire force both Orbs out simultaneously, freeing both leaders. Maxie commands Camerupt and Houndoom.
Thin, bespectacled man with sharp features and red hair swept back. Wears a long red coat with the Team Magma insignia. Moves with calculated precision — every step measured, every word chosen. After the Red Orb possesses him, red veins crawl across his skin and his glasses crack from the heat radiating off his body.
