Snor

Character from pokemon-adventures-rgb by

Red's Snorlax — a massive, constantly hungry Normal-type caught on Route 12 whose deceptive bulk hides surprising combat power.

Snor is the team's heavyweight — literally. Red caught him on Route 12, where Snorlax are known to block roads by sleeping across them. The capture required creative problem-solving, and keeping Snor fed requires a constant supply of food that strains Red's budget. In battle, Snor is deceptively effective. His bulk absorbs attacks that would incapacitate other Pokémon, and his counterattacks — Headbutt, Body Slam, Mega Punch — hit with the force of a creature that weighs over a thousand pounds. Against Giovanni's Golem, Snor's Headbutt proved decisive. Snor embodies Red's team-building philosophy: he doesn't choose Pokémon for type coverage or competitive viability. He chooses them because he likes them. Snor likes Red because Red feeds him. It's a simple relationship, and sometimes those are the strongest.

Appearance

An enormous teal-and-cream bear-like Pokémon with a round body, tiny eyes that are usually closed, and a yawning mouth. Takes up an unreasonable amount of space. Appears to be sleeping at all times, even when fighting. His bulk is both his armor and his weapon.

Also known as: Snor, Red's Snorlax
