Pika

Character from pokemon-adventures-rgb by

Red's Pikachu — a wild, stubborn electric mouse caught in Pewter City who refused to obey until Red proved himself worthy, and who became his most trusted partner.

Pika was causing havoc in Pewter City's market when Red caught him — stealing food, shocking shopkeepers, and evading every trainer who tried to contain him. He was wild in the truest sense, and catching him didn't change that. For Red's first gym battle against Brock, Pika flat-out refused to fight. The turning point came when Red threw himself in front of Brock's Onix to protect Pika during the battle. Pika saw a trainer willing to take damage for him — not as strategy, but as instinct — and something shifted. He unleashed a massive electric attack that destroyed Onix and won the badge. From that moment, Pika was Red's. Pika's moveset includes Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Substitute, and Toxic. His Static ability shocks anyone who touches him. He's clever enough to use the environment — channeling electricity through water, using Substitute as a decoy, charging attacks through Red's fishing rod. His signature improvised technique, MegaVolt, channels maximum power at the cost of total exhaustion. He remains unevolved throughout the series — not because he can't evolve, but because he doesn't need to.

Appearance

A small yellow mouse Pokémon with red cheek pouches that crackle with stored electricity, a lightning bolt-shaped tail, and expressive dark eyes. Smaller than most Pikachu but fiercer. His fur stands on end when he's angry, which in the early chapters is constantly. Rides on Red's shoulder once they bond.
