The legendary Fire/Flying bird Pokémon controlled by Sabrina and Team Rocket — one third of the legendary bird trio fused into the chimera Thu-Fi-Zer.
Moltres was under Sabrina's control as part of Team Rocket's operations. It appeared on Cinnabar Island, where Red and Blaine fought against it — the battle that led to Red receiving Aero (his Aerodactyl) and learning about the Mewtwo Project. Moltres was brought to Silph Co. along with Zapdos and Articuno for the legendary bird fusion experiment. The Badge Energy Amplifier — activated by Green, who was tricked into believing it served a different purpose — forced all three birds into the chimeric entity Thu-Fi-Zer. The fusion was Team Rocket's ultimate weapon, and its defeat marked the end of their Saffron City operations.
A large avian Pokémon wreathed in flames, with burning wings, a fiery crest, and a tail of living fire. It radiates intense heat, and its presence alone can ignite nearby materials. Majestic and terrifying in equal measure.
