Koga is the most unsettling of Giovanni's three lieutenants. Where Surge fights like a soldier and Sabrina fights like a psychic, Koga fights like an assassin — invisible, patient, and willing to use any method to win. He wears a Grimer on his shoulder as part of his ninja outfit, uses his Golbat's Supersonic to create a scrying mirror that sees through walls, and deploys poison with surgical precision. His signature Pokémon is his Arbok, which Blue's Charmeleon famously bisected during their confrontation. This isn't a metaphor — the panel shows the snake cut cleanly in two. The fact that Arbok can regenerate from this injury (a unique ability of Koga's Arbok in the manga) makes the moment even more disturbing. The incident creates a lasting vendetta between Koga and Blue. At Silph Co., Koga uses poison and illusion tactics to separate and disorient the infiltrators.
