The legendary Ice/Flying bird Pokémon encountered at Seafoam Islands — one third of the legendary bird trio captured by Team Rocket for the fusion experiment.
Articuno was targeted by Team Rocket at the Seafoam Islands, where Harry (one of the Team Rocket Elite Trio) attempted to capture it. Red intervened, and Articuno recognized that Red was defending rather than attacking it — prompting the legendary bird to turn its power against Team Rocket. Despite this alliance, Articuno was eventually captured by Team Rocket and brought to Silph Co., where it was fused with Zapdos and Moltres using the Badge Energy Amplifier to create Thu-Fi-Zer. The fusion was an abomination — three legendary beings forced into a single body — and its defeat was the climactic moment that united the three Pokédex holders.
