The town where winds of a new beginning blow — Gold's hometown, Professor Elm's lab, and the place where a stolen Totodile started everything.

New Bark Town is where the GSC arc begins. Gold's home — the 'Poké House,' filled with baby Pokémon — sits near Professor Elm's lab. When Silver breaks into the lab and steals Totodile, Gold witnesses it and gives chase, launching the entire story. The town is also home to Gold's mother, who runs the breeding operation that made Gold the 'Hatcher' he is. Its name — 'the town where winds of a new beginning blow' — is literal. Every journey starts here. Every wind pushes outward.

Appearance

A small, peaceful town at the southeastern edge of Johto, surrounded by gentle hills and tall grass. A few modest houses, a windmill, and Professor Elm's laboratory — the largest building in town. Morning light catches the wind vanes. The kind of place where nothing ever happens, until it does.
