Giovanni's son, raised as a soldier by the Masked Man, who stole a Totodile and his own freedom — a cold loner whose hatred of Team Rocket is personal in ways he doesn't yet understand.
Silver was kidnapped by the Masked Man as a small child, along with Green, Carl, Sham, Will, and Karen. He spent years being trained as a soldier — learning Pokémon trading, battling, and survival under the Masked Man's brutal instruction. Green led their escape when the Masked Man's guard dropped, and the two have worked together since to bring him down. He stole Totodile from Professor Elm's lab — not out of cruelty but because he needed a partner and didn't know how to ask. This theft made him Gold's rival before they even spoke. Silver's special skill is Pokémon trading: he's the 'Exchanger,' taught by the Masked Man himself to swap Pokémon mid-battle for tactical advantage. Silver doesn't know his father is Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket. His hatred of the organization is instinctive — he was shaped by its cruelty without knowing his blood connection to it. When the truth finally surfaces in a later arc, it recontextualizes everything: his anger, his isolation, his desperate need to prove he's nothing like the people who raised him. Despite his coldness, Silver earns Gold's respect through shared battle. At the Lake of Rage, at the Whirl Islands, and finally at Ilex Forest, the two boys who started as enemies become something closer to brothers — though Silver would never say it.
A lean teenage boy with long red hair that falls past his shoulders, sharp silver-grey eyes, and a perpetually guarded expression. Wears a black jacket over a dark red shirt, dark pants. No accessories, no flair — everything about his appearance says 'don't approach.' Moves with trained precision, the body language of someone who learned to fight before he learned to trust.
