The Mahogany Town Gym Leader who kidnapped children, rebuilt Team Rocket, and captured gods — all to travel back in time and save two Lapras who died in an avalanche he couldn't prevent.
Pryce is the Mahogany Town Gym Leader and the secret leader of Neo Team Rocket. His true identity as the Masked Man is the arc's central mystery — hidden behind an ice mask and decades of careful planning. As a young man, Pryce witnessed two Lapras — a mated pair — die in an avalanche. Their orphaned child, La Glace, became his partner, but the grief never faded. Pryce became convinced that if he could travel through time using Celebi, he could go back and save them. Everything he did — kidnapping six children to train as soldiers, rebuilding Team Rocket under his command, capturing Ho-Oh and Lugia, extracting their feathers to forge the GS Ball — was in service of this single, tragic goal. He kidnapped Green, Silver, Carl, Sham, Will, and Karen as children, selecting them for their potential. He trained them ruthlessly, teaching them to battle and trade Pokémon as weapons. Green and Silver escaped; Carl and Sham became his loyal executives; Will and Karen became Elite Four members under his influence. At the climax, Pryce uses the Silver Wing and Rainbow Wing to create the GS Ball at the Ilex Forest Shrine, captures Celebi, and escapes into the time stream. Gold, Silver, and Crystal pursue him. When the GS Ball is destroyed, Pryce becomes trapped in the voids of time, where Celebi sends him memories of his lost Lapras — a final mercy, or a final punishment.
In disguise: a towering figure in flowing dark robes and a featureless ice mask that hides his face completely. Radiates cold — literally. Ice forms on surfaces around him. Moves with supernatural speed despite his apparent age. When the mask shatters: an elderly man with white hair, weathered face, and eyes that carry decades of grief. Uses a wheelchair-mounted ice mechanism in his true form.
