The Diving Pokémon — master of the Whirl Islands, captured by the Masked Man and wielded alongside Ho-Oh as a weapon of mass destruction at Indigo Plateau.

Lugia dwells at the Whirl Islands, creating whirlpools that protect its domain. When Gold, Silver, and Crystal encountered it there, they battled together — one of their first true cooperative moments. The Masked Man captured Lugia and extracted its Silver Wing for the GS Ball. At Indigo Plateau, Lugia was deployed alongside Ho-Oh, combining Aeroblast with Sacred Fire. The duo was freed when a massive group of Pokémon from the Azalea Pokémon Center surrounded them, breaking the Masked Man's control through sheer collective will.

Appearance

A massive silver-white dragon-like Pokémon with blue plating on its back, a long neck, and psychic eyes. Its wingbeats create storms. Its Aeroblast tears through anything in its path. Graceful in the ocean, terrifying in the sky.
