Lance operates as a semi-antagonistic force in the GSC arc, investigating the Masked Man's activities through his own channels. He lends Silver his Pupitar (which evolves into Tyranitar) during the Whirl Islands battle. His methods are aggressive and morally grey — he's willing to use extreme measures to achieve justice, which puts him at odds with the protagonists even when they share goals.
