La Glace is the emotional core of the entire arc. As a young man, Pryce witnessed two Lapras — a mated pair — die in an avalanche. Their orphaned child, La Glace, survived and became Pryce's partner. The grief of watching those Lapras die and being unable to save them consumed Pryce, driving him to seek Celebi's time-travel powers to go back and prevent the accident. Every kidnapped child, every captured legendary, every act of the Masked Man was ultimately about this one Pokémon's dead parents. La Glace is the tragedy behind the mask — proof that the deepest villainy in Pokémon Adventures comes not from malice but from love that metastasized into obsession.
