The Rainbow Pokémon — captured by the Masked Man using Delibird, used to kidnap Green as a child, and wielded as a weapon at Indigo Plateau before being freed by the legendary birds.
Ho-Oh is one of the tower duo alongside Lugia. The Masked Man used Ho-Oh to kidnap Green and Silver as children — the source of Green's lifelong bird phobia. Later, the Masked Man's forces attacked the Tin Tower to lure Ho-Oh back to Ecruteak City, where it was captured using Delibird. At Indigo Plateau, the Masked Man deployed both Ho-Oh and Lugia against the heroes, combining Sacred Fire and Aeroblast into devastating combo attacks. Will and Karen also used Ho-Oh to exploit Green's bird phobia at Ilex Forest. Ho-Oh was ultimately freed when Green overcame her fear and used the legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres) alongside Red and Blue to break the Masked Man's control. The Masked Man extracted Ho-Oh's Rainbow Wing to use in creating the GS Ball.
A magnificent phoenix-like Pokémon with rainbow-colored plumage, a golden crest, and wings that trail prismatic light. Its Sacred Fire burns with purifying warmth. When it flies, rainbows form in its wake. Majestic beyond description — and terrifying when controlled by the wrong hands.
