The Violet City Gym Leader — a bird specialist and police officer's son who tests Gold early in his journey and later fights at Indigo Plateau.
Falkner is Gold's first Gym Leader challenge in the arc. A Flying-type specialist who takes his role seriously, he participates in the Gym Leader exhibition tournament at Indigo Plateau, representing the Johto side. He later guards Ecruteak Gym alongside Chuck and Bugsy at Morty's request.
