She was tasked with completing his Pokédex, a job she approached with relentless professionalism. Crystal catches Pokémon the way accountants file taxes: methodically, completely, without sentiment. But Suicune broke her. She pursued the legendary beast obsessively, and when it escaped her at Tin Tower, she lost confidence in the one thing that defined her. Her mother helped her rebuild, and she retrained from basics on Mt. Mortar. When Suicune finally chose her as its partner for the battle against the Masked Man — after first choosing Misty — Crystal proved that persistence matters more than first impressions. She is Gold's opposite in every way: disciplined where he's chaotic, serious where he's reckless, professional where he's impulsive. Together, they balance each other out.
