Crystal

Character from pokemon-adventures-gsc by

A professional capture specialist who kicks Poké Balls because her arms once broke — hired by Professor Oak to complete the Pokédex, driven by a perfectionism that cracks when Suicune escapes her.

Crystal trained on Mt. Mortar as a child. When a wild Arcanine attacked her, she fell and broke both arms. The wild Pokémon of the mountain rescued and healed her, then joined her team — Parasee, Monlee, Bonee, and Chumee became her lifelong companions. Even after her arms healed, she kept kicking Poké Balls with her feet: it had become her style, her signature, her identity. Professor Oak hired her as the 'Catcher' — her special skill is capturing Pokémon with extraordinary precision and efficiency. She was tasked with completing his Pokédex, a job she approached with relentless professionalism. Crystal catches Pokémon the way accountants file taxes: methodically, completely, without sentiment. But Suicune broke her. She pursued the legendary beast obsessively, and when it escaped her at Tin Tower, she lost confidence in the one thing that defined her. Her mother helped her rebuild, and she retrained from basics on Mt. Mortar. When Suicune finally chose her as its partner for the battle against the Masked Man — after first choosing Misty — Crystal proved that persistence matters more than first impressions. She is Gold's opposite in every way: disciplined where he's chaotic, serious where he's reckless, professional where he's impulsive. Together, they balance each other out.

Appearance

A teenage girl with dark blue hair in long pigtails, bright blue eyes, and a focused, serious expression. Wears a white lab-style jacket over a red top, a yellow skirt, and long blue boots. Star-shaped crystal earrings — one of which Suicune picks up after their first encounter. Moves with practiced efficiency, every gesture purposeful. Kicks Poké Balls with her feet rather than throwing them.
