The grandfather of the Pokedex and the man who started everything -- kidnapped by Team Rocket but still working to upgrade his inventions from captivity.
Professor Oak sent Red and Blue to the Sevii Islands under the pretense of a Pokedex delivery, but his real purpose was to upgrade their Pokedexes to National Mode. Team Rocket kidnapped him on Six Island before he could complete the work. Orm held him at Trainer Tower, where Blue eventually found and rescued him -- though the first version of Oak they found was a 3D hologram projected by Carr's AI system. The real Oak was recovered alongside Green's parents after Blue's Porygon2 shut down the central computer. Even in captivity, Oak never stopped working. He completed the National Pokedex upgrades and distributed the new models to Red, Blue, and Green, ensuring his life's work continued regardless of his personal danger.
An older man with graying hair and kind, intelligent eyes. Wears a lab coat out of habit even when there is no lab. His expression carries the gentle authority of a lifelong teacher who has watched his students surpass him and couldn't be prouder.
