Red's Pikachu -- his first and most trusted partner, a veteran of every battle Red has ever fought.
Pika has been with Red since the beginning. It is not the strongest Pokemon on his team, but it is the one he trusts most absolutely. Their coordination in battle is instinctive -- Red doesn't need to give commands for the basics. In this arc, Pika's Thunder attack critically wounded Deoxys during their first encounter, forcing the DNA Pokemon to retreat to Birth Island to heal. This established that Deoxys, despite its alien power, was not invincible.
A Pikachu with a slightly more weathered look than typical -- scarred from years of champion-level battles. Bright yellow fur, red cheek pouches crackling with stored electricity, and alert brown eyes. Rides on Red's shoulder or runs at his side.
