A space virus given form -- two organisms born from cosmic radiation that crashed into Hoenn on a meteorite, one of which absorbed Red's blood and became the most dangerous Pokemon any of them have ever faced.

Deoxys is not one creature but two. Both originated as viruses floating in space that mutated after exposure to cosmic radiation. They attached to a meteorite that crashed in Hoenn, where Professor Cozmo discovered them at the Mossdeep Space Center. Team Rocket stole both organisms. Organism No. 1 was used as a tool -- deployed to provoke Red and lure Organism No. 2. Giovanni eventually disposed of it after it served its purpose. Organism No. 2 is the one that matters. It accidentally absorbed a sample of Red's blood during an escape from Team Rocket's lab, creating a bond that made Deoxys believe Red was its ancestor. This connection drove it to seek Red across Kanto and the Sevii Islands. After escaping, it retreated to Birth Island and encased itself in a Delta Shield -- a pyramid of Reflect and Light Screen -- to complete its growth. Giovanni broke the shield, captured it, and used the Ruby and Sapphire gems to unlock its full forme-change capabilities. Deoxys can shift between Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed formes and create duplicates of itself. It battled Mewtwo aboard the airship in one of the most devastating fights in the manga's history. It is not evil. It is a creature of instinct and survival, shaped by forces beyond its comprehension, searching for the one human whose blood runs in its alien veins.

Appearance

In Normal Forme: a slender, alien bipedal figure with a crystalline core in its chest, tentacle-like arms, and an aurora of psychic energy. Its body shifts between four distinct configurations -- Normal, Attack (elongated offensive limbs), Defense (armored and compact), and Speed (streamlined and aerodynamic). Its color scheme is dominated by reds and blues with a glowing green core. It looks wrong -- not like a Pokemon, but like something trying to become one.
