Maruki's Palace

Location from Persona 5 Royal by Atlus

The Laboratory of Sorrow — Royal-exclusive. A pristine research complex representing Takuto Maruki's desire to eliminate all human suffering by rewriting cognition itself. The final Palace.

Maruki's Palace is the kindest-looking dungeon in the game and the most dangerous — because his intentions are genuinely compassionate and his power is real. He has already begun rewriting cognition: Ryuji's legs work, Shiho never jumped, Wakaba is alive. The revised reality feels better. The Phantom Thieves must choose to reject it, which means choosing suffering. Maruki himself is not a villain in the traditional sense — he is the embodiment of the most human desire: to protect the people you love from pain, forever. Navigating his palace means confronting what it costs to let people feel their grief.

Appearance

An impossibly clean research facility built on clouds above an abstract void. White corridors with soft lighting. Lab rooms full of equipment that doesn't correspond to real science. At the center, a massive tree of light — the Actualization device. The architecture grows stranger as you ascend: geometry loosens, walls breathe, rooms loop back on themselves.
