Kosei High exists in an atmosphere of productive pressure. Students compete through work, not social maneuvering — which makes it, paradoxically, more honest than Shujin. Yusuke stands out even here: his technique is already professional, his eye already strange. Madarame sent him here to give his talent shape and to maintain proximity to it. The studios where Yusuke works late carry the particular exhaustion of people making things that matter to them. After Madarame's fall, Yusuke's relationship to the school shifts — he stays, but he sees it differently now.
