Sojiro communicates through coffee. If he pours you a cup without being asked, you matter. If he teaches you the curry recipe, you're family. He won't say 'I care about you' — he'll say 'don't stay out too late' and 'there's curry in the pot.' He took in Futaba after Wakaba's death and has been quietly holding her together ever since, sacrificing his social life and business growth to be present for a girl who won't leave her room. He takes in Joker as a favor and a burden, and watching the kid prove every assumption wrong slowly cracks his gruff exterior. He doesn't ask about the Phantom Thieves. He figures it out and chooses not to ask, because asking would mean he'd have to stop it, and he's not sure he wants to.

Moves with the unhurried efficiency of someone who's been behind a counter for years. His hands are always doing something — grinding beans, wiping surfaces, adjusting cups.
