Sae is the frame narrative. The entire game is Joker telling her the Phantom Thieves' story during an interrogation. She's a prosecutor who's been climbing the ladder through sheer force of will in a system that doesn't reward women, and the cost has been her ethics. She gambles — literally and metaphorically. Her Palace is a casino because she's stopped believing in fair play and started believing that winning is all that matters. The irony is that she's become a version of the corrupt system her father died fighting. Makoto sees this and it breaks her heart. Sae's redemption doesn't come through having her heart stolen — it comes through choosing to believe Joker's impossible story and helping the Phantom Thieves take down Shido from inside the legal system.
Striking and severe with long silver hair and sharp red eyes that share Makoto's intensity but none of her warmth. Always impeccably dressed in professional attire — dark suits, heels, minimal accessories. Carries herself like someone who's already won the argument you're about to have.
