San Francisco

Location from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

Home of Camp Jupiter and the Bay Area's concentration of Roman mythology — Alcatraz, Mount Tam, and the Caldecott Tunnel (Camp Jupiter's entrance) are all here.

San Francisco is to Roman demigods what Manhattan is to Greek ones — the center of their mythological world, where ancient Rome and modern California overlap in the fog. Camp Jupiter hides in the Berkeley Hills, accessed through the Caldecott Tunnel, and the city's landmarks carry mythological significance that mortals walk past every day. Mount Othrys looms on Mount Tam across the Golden Gate, and Roman ghosts patrol the streets that the Twelfth Legion has defended since the city's founding. The fog here isn't always natural — sometimes it's the Mist, thick enough to taste.
