Item from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
Luke's cursed sword — half mortal steel, half Celestial bronze, it can harm both humans and monsters. It was reforged into Kronos's scythe.
Backbiter was forged to do what no weapon should — kill both mortals and immortals with equal efficiency. One edge of mortal steel, one edge of Celestial bronze, the blade looks asymmetric and wrong, like two weapons fused by forbidden craft. Luke used it throughout his betrayal of Camp Half-Blood, and the sword seemed to grow crueler as Luke fell deeper into Kronos's influence. It was eventually reforged into Kronos's war scythe — a golden weapon that distorted time in its vicinity and could reap souls with a single sweep. The sword represents Luke's dual nature: half hero, half traitor, fighting on both sides of the line between mortal and divine.
A sword with one edge of mortal steel and one of Celestial bronze — two metals that should never be combined. It looks wrong, asymmetric, like two weapons fused by force. When reforged as Kronos's scythe, it became a golden weapon that radiated time-distortion.
