Character from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
The Cyclops from the Odyssey — still alive, still blind in one eye, still guarding the Golden Fleece, and still upset about what Odysseus did to him.
Polyphemus has been sitting in the Sea of Monsters guarding the Golden Fleece since Homer wrote about him, and the centuries have not improved his disposition. He's enormous even by Cyclops standards, with one remaining eye (Odysseus blinded the other) and a cave decorated with the bones of heroes who didn't escape. He still calls out for 'Nobody' when he's angry. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson had to retrieve the Fleece to save Thalia's tree, and the encounter required Annabeth to use her invisibility cap and the Nobody trick — because Cyclopes, it turns out, never learn from their mistakes.
Gigantic, even by Cyclops standards, with one remaining eye (Odysseus blinded the other). He wears a crude kilt of animal skins and his island cave is decorated with bones.
