Hermes

Character from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

God of Travelers, Thieves, and Messengers — the Olympian who actually feels guilty about his children and can't do enough about it.

Hermes is the most empathetic Olympian, which makes his failure with Luke devastating. He knew Luke was angry, knew he was turning to Kronos, and couldn't intervene because of the ancient laws. He carries that guilt openly — it shows in the way his normally mischievous eyes go distant whenever Luke's name comes up. His cabin at camp is always overcrowded because unclaimed demigods go to Hermes by default — the god of travelers takes in everyone who doesn't have a home. George and Martha, the snakes in his caduceus-phone, argue constantly and provide unsolicited commentary on everything, which Hermes tolerates with the patience of a parent who has heard it all before.

Appearance

Athletic and youthful with mischievous blue eyes. He wears a jogger's outfit and winged sneakers (not sandals — he upgraded). He carries a smartphone that doubles as his caduceus. Two snakes named George and Martha live in the phone and argue constantly.

Also known as: Hermes, Mercury, God of Messengers
