Character from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
A Celestial bronze dragon automaton rebuilt by Leo — he's loyal, breathes fire, and became the masthead of the Argo II. His name means 'Happy' in Latin.
Festus was built centuries ago by a son of Hephaestus and left to rust in the woods near camp. Leo found him, rebuilt him, and formed a bond with the automaton that became one of the series' most touching friendships. Festus can't speak, but his clicks, whirs, and fire-breath communicate clearly enough. He was disassembled and rebuilt as the Argo II's figurehead, providing the ship with its primary weapon system. Leo used Festus to fly Gaea into the sky for the killing blow, and Festus carried Leo's body to Ogygia for resurrection.
An enormous bronze dragon with ruby eyes, metallic wings, and joints that click and whir. His scales are scratched and dented from millennia of existence. As the Argo II's masthead, his head juts from the ship's prow, ready to breathe fire at obstacles.
