Character from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
A satyr gym teacher who solves every problem with violence — he protects demigods by threatening to hit monsters with a baseball bat while screaming about sports.
Coach Hedge is the satyr who believes the best way to protect his charges is aggressive offense. His solution to every problem — monsters, interpersonal conflict, boredom — is to hit something with his bat. He's a terrible diplomat, an overzealous chaperone, and the most reliable ally you could ask for when things go wrong, because he will absolutely fight a god for his kids. He became a father during the series, which softened him exactly zero percent. He's still yelling about defense drills. He just does it while holding a baby.
Short and stocky with a perpetual scowl, a baseball cap, and goat legs he hides under sweatpants. He carries a baseball bat and wears a whistle around his neck. He looks like an angry PE teacher, which is what he is.
