Bob

Character from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

The Titan Iapetus, memory-wiped and reborn as 'Bob' — a gentle janitor who helped Percy and Annabeth survive Tartarus because kindness is harder to kill than hatred.

Percy pushed the Titan Iapetus into the River Lethe, erasing his memories. The Titan woke up remembering nothing, and Percy told him his name was 'Bob.' Bob became a gentle janitor in the Underworld, cleaning and helping, until Percy and Annabeth fell into Tartarus and needed him. Bob sacrificed himself to hold the Doors of Death open so Percy and Annabeth could escape Tartarus. He chose to die for friends who had originally taken his memories — the ultimate act of forgiveness. He's proof that identity isn't fixed: a Titan became a janitor became a hero.

Tall and silvery, with gentle eyes and a janitor's uniform. He carries a broom that doubles as a weapon. He looks like someone who used to be terrifying and chose to be kind instead.
