Location from Pale by Wildbow
The supernatural undercity — born from the Carmine Beast's accumulated death-power, where knotted locales break normal rules and Miss builds a community for Others who have nowhere else to go.
Kennet Found exists because the Carmine Beast died here and its power had to go somewhere. The result is a pocket reality layered beneath the physical town — knotted locales where spatial logic breaks down, time moves differently, and the usual rules of the Practice apply inconsistently. It's both a community and a construction project: Miss serves as primary architect, building infrastructure for Others who need shelter, rehabilitation, or just a place where they won't be hunted. The undercity's gang structure provides internal conflict: the Bitter St. Witch practices augury, the Vice Principal transforms faculty into brutes, the Foreman runs factories with racist brutishness, and Family Man is hyperfertile in ways that are exactly as unsettling as they sound. Verona handles undercity enforcement, navigating these territories with shadow magic and the specific confidence of a fourteen-year-old who has decided that gang lords are just another type of bully.
A supernatural version of Kennet created through the accumulation of Carmine power in the location where the Beast died. Geography bends. Rules don't function normally. Gang territories — Bitter St. Witch, the Vice Principal, the Foreman, Family Man, the Stuck-Arounds — divide the space like a supernatural neighbourhood map drawn by someone having a bad dream.
