Guilherme

Character from Pale by Wildbow

A seven-foot Summer Fae warrior who mentors Lucy in swordfighting, despises boredom the way mortals despise death, and is exactly the kind of romantic hero who might murder a god out of mutual dislike.

Guilherme is drawn to adventure and drama the way a moth is drawn to flame — not because it's safe, but because the alternative is stagnation, and boredom is death to Fae. His Summer Court values glory, battle, and epic storytelling. He is subtle and powerful in ways that his warrior presentation obscures; people expect the seven-foot swordsman to be straightforward, and Guilherme uses that expectation. He had no alibi for the murder night. The Carmine Beast wanted him as a subordinate, and the mutual dislike was well-documented. His court hunts 'big game.' He is a prime suspect throughout the investigation, and his status as Lucy's mentor makes every training session a scene where trust and suspicion coexist. Guilherme eventually settles in the Winter court, which for a Summer Fae is an act of either profound growth or profound desperation — trading adventure for the stillness that terrifies him most.

Appearance

Seven feet tall, muscular, pale-haired, devastatingly handsome in the way that all High Summer Fae are — the romantic warrior archetype made flesh. His glamour reinforces this constantly; even his casual stance looks like a painting of a hero resting between battles.
