Ramposa III

Character from Overlord by Kugane Maruyama

The last King of Re-Estize — a mediocre but well-meaning monarch whose indecisiveness and inability to make hard sacrifices doomed his kingdom, murdered by his own daughter in the throne room.

Ramposa III embodied the tragedy of a good man in an impossible position. Charismatic enough to earn the loyalty of Gazef Stronoff, humble enough to judge men by merit rather than birth, yet fatally unable to make the ruthless decisions his kingdom required. He inherited a broken political system and maintained it through inaction rather than reform. His love for his children blinded him — he couldn't see Renner's true nature, couldn't choose between his sons for succession, couldn't punish the noble who provoked war with the Sorcerer Kingdom. After the massacre at Katze Plains, where he lost Gazef and forty thousand soldiers, depression consumed him. He withdrew from governance, became fixated on vengeance against the Sorcerer Kingdom, and lost the ability to think rationally. His son Zanac staged a coup to save what remained. In the end, Renner stabbed him in the back with Razor Edge — the same sword Gazef had wielded in his service — to prove her loyalty to Nazarick.
