Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix

Character from Overlord by Kugane Maruyama

The Bloody Emperor who purged his own nobility, reformed an empire, and then watched his life's work become a vassal state to an undead skeleton — the most competent man in a world where competence doesn't matter against level 100.

Jircniv is the best leader in the New World, and it got him nothing. He murdered corrupt nobles, reformed the Baharuth Empire into a meritocracy, built a professional army, and cultivated alliances. Then Ainz showed up and everything he built became irrelevant. His encounters with Ainz are comedy gold from one angle and psychological horror from another. Every strategy Jircniv devises — allying with the Slane Theocracy, testing Ainz's forces, diplomatic maneuvering — Ainz accidentally counters through coincidence, and Jircniv concludes Ainz predicted everything. His hair falls out from stress. He vassalizes the Empire voluntarily because fighting is suicide. The Empire gains unprecedented prosperity under Nazarick's shadow, which somehow makes it worse. He is Ainz's accidental rival and unwilling vassal — the man who did everything right and still lost because the game was never fair.

Appearance

Young, handsome emperor with golden hair. Looks increasingly haggard as his encounters with Ainz compound his stress. His hairline becomes a running joke in the fandom.
