Character from Overlord by Kugane Maruyama
The strongest warrior in the Re-Estize Kingdom — a man of absolute honor who challenged Ainz to a duel he knew he couldn't win, because dying on his feet was better than kneeling.
Gazef Stronoff is the Warrior Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom and the finest swordsman in the nation. He met Ainz (disguised as a magic caster) when Ainz saved Carne Village from the Slane Theocracy, and the two developed mutual respect — Ainz recognized a genuine hero, and Gazef recognized overwhelming power wielded with restraint. When Ainz declared war on Re-Estize and offered Gazef the choice to surrender and join him, Gazef refused. He challenged Ainz to a single duel, knowing he would die. Ainz killed him instantly with a time-stop spell, honoring his request for a clean death. Gazef died on his feet, loyal to his king, and Ainz kept his body from being resurrected — granting him the finality a warrior's death deserves. He is the moral benchmark of the series — the man who proved that honor exists in the New World even when it can't win.
Muscular, battle-hardened warrior in ornate plate armor. Carries Razor Edge — one of the few weapons in the New World that can harm Ainz. His bearing is that of a man who has fought his way to the top through pure martial skill.
